Chessboard Illusion Makeup

inspiration for the makeup

Who knew drawing a stupid square on your face could be so hard, huh? Would you believe me if I told you it’s even harder than doing two matching winged eyes ? I know !!!! That’s how difficult it is, yup !

So when I decided to draw not only a square on my face, which is nowhere near flat, but a sinking chessboard illusion… well, it took me 6 long hours lol.

If you want to know how I did it keep reading and scroll down a bit more if you just want to watch the tutorial !

Step by Step

Here’s how to paint this sinking chess board illusion, in 9 steps! Step 3 and 5 were the most difficult as your face is not flat and it’s hard to draw something perfectly square and symetrical….

I just left a comment on another page about how impressed I am with your work but then I saw this one! You remind me of the masterpieces of chalk art that are done on sidewalks and go viral. Your work deserves to go viral too.

This is the most disturbing makeup job I have ever seen. But I know that is what you were trying to do. I am a big Dr. Who fan and I could see this makeup job being used on a major feature of my favorite show just because it is so disturbing!

Keep up the great work. You are going to make a big name for yourself.

ahah and yeah this makeup is pretty disturbing lol… I’ve done other ones that were disturbing as well, like my melting face makeup, you might like it!

Anyhow thank you again and have a lovely day

I didn’t know chessboarding one’s face was a thing. But I like it. It’s unconventional. Definitely is going to make heads turn.

Also, I think you did really, really well with it, Sarah! Well done. I liked the video a lot. As far as I can tell, incredibly easy to follow and just copy right off the bat. Not sure if I would be willing to devote 6 hours for that though. But you’re a beast. I imagine I would be beyond wiped if I went for that (and you were probably too judging by that exhale at the end). πŸ™‚

I loved the idea of just listing the products you used to get to that look. It makes it a lot easier to get that same result.

    Have a Wonderful Day!

aaaah 6 hours is actually a pretty fast one for me lol.. usually my makeups keep me busy for 8-9 hours but the longest I’ve done took 14 !!! that one was a bit crazy, I’ll admit it but you know… when you love something you don’t count, right? =)

Thank you for stopping by anyway, I’m really happy you enjoyed the tutorial and I appreciate all the feedback !!

Have a lovely day as well
