“Ugh, if only your wits matched your looks. – Cruella De Vil
It’s getting harder and harder to pick disney villains for my tutorials… Perhaps 9 characters in total wasn’t enough? ? There’s just too many badass villains to turn into !! Right?
Anyhow, number 6 is Cruella and I love how she turned out… creepy, snarly and sinister! One of the most fun transformations I’ve done in years… so much that I couldn’t take it off and filmed like 8 different silly videos for my tiktok account ??. (does tiktok have that effect on you too? ^^)
But enough rambling, let’s take a look at the transformation, shall we? ! =)
Step By Step
Every time I’ve done a makeup, for the past few years, I have taken pictures of all the steps and put them together in a pictorial… Seeing the progress of a makeup never cease to amaze me… it’s like eating oreos, it always tastes wonderfully good π
Step 1
be your beautiful natural self
Step 2
moisturize and block out your eyebrows (I use a gluestick, compact powder and a flat round sponge)
Step 3
apply foundation and outline the shape of Cruella’s face. Because I wasn’t going to use a wig but instead glue cartoon looking hair on my face, I had to cheat a little and paint my face on the sides (in the color of her hair). You can skip that step in you’re going to use a wig because you can simply use the hair to hide the side of your face and rely on heavy contouring to make the structure of your face look like hers
Step 4
contour, mostly to make your cheeks more prominent, like Cruella. Start with a shade a bit darker than your foundation and then with a much darker brown go back in to enhance the shape of your cheeks. Highlight the top of the cheeks to make them stand out more. Highlight above the lips, nose bridge, forehead and chin… oh and also around the temples.
Step 5
with a red lip pencil, outline the big mouth, fill in with red paint or red lipstick or red eyeshadow (anything red lol) and white for the teeth. You can add more detail if you feel like it, like black in the corners of the mouth and grey on teeth. If you have no idea what I’m talking about the tutorial down below will help you lol
Step 6
contour the nose to make it pointed and upturned like hers. I had to add fake nostrils (using brown eyeshadow and black eyeliner). I highlighted the fake tip with a light cream concealer and at the very tip, a little bit of white paint. I also outlined the mouth and teeth with a black eyeliner and added a few lines on the side of the mouth (the latter will increase her wicked smile). I did a little bit of contouring around the nose as well, because it looked a bit weird otherwise. It looked like she was smiling but had no expression lines, you know? Like she had too much botox or something lol
Step 7
Glue the hair (or put on your wig)
Step 8
Do the eye makeup : I started by applying a primer on the lid, then green eyeshadow all over the lid, light green on the inner corners and kaki on the outer and upper part. Then black eyeliner to give your eyes a sexy cat look. a little bit of mascara, no false eyelashes because in the cartoon she actually doesn’t even have lashes lol. Then depending on how close to the Disney character you want to look, you can add a large brown area above your own lid (basically it will go over your blocked out brows up to the middle of the forehead) and then you will circle (more of an oval shape really) that fake brown lid with black eyeliner, thus giving your Cruella her super arched brows !
Step 9
put on your fur coat, grab your cigarette holder or any prop you can find or make and voilΓ ! You are officially unrecognizable and wicked!

Sarah! You have to be the most amazing, accomplished makeup artist I have ever seen! How much more creative and challenging it must be to do the Disney villains instead of the cookie-cutter princesses! Once you have seen the face of one Disney princess, you have almost seen them all.
Do you have a background in theater? I am amazed at how much of a transformation you are able to make! I checked out some of the other videos from your page too, and the Old Hag is my favorite. What else do you have up your sleeve? I see the pages where you have put “more coming soon” I can barely wait. . . Do you have any hints for a new fan of your work?
I have bookmarked your page,
Lisa
Hey Lisa !
Thank you so much for the support, it means the world to me…
You know what, the truth it’s actually more challenging for me to do the cookie-cutter princesses, as you put it ! They’re less fun than the villains, too perfect, too plain and I feel I can be much more creative when I turn into a villain =D. That being said, I have in mind another Disney serie… the heroes, but with a twist! or something like that !
I do not have a background in theatre or makeup or art, I’m self-taught ! Oh and thank you, the Old Hag is actually one of my favorites! I remember looking at myself in the mirror and not being able to see my own face under the layers of makeup lol… it was pretty disturbing!
I will soon update my “coming soon” pages !! I am very excited about the new content but it’s taking a bit more time than I thought to put together =)
Thank you again for the love and support, I really appreciate it
Sarah
Wow! That is so fricken cool! My sister loves make up and dressing herself up in different costumes. But I’ve never seen her pull something off as good as this. This Disney villain looks absolutely amazing and I might have to introduce her to my sister so she can go as the villain for next Halloween. Amazing stuff, you have a talent, keep it up.
Thank you so much Brandon, it means a lot ! I do have a lot of Halloween looks on my website, I’m sure your sister would love them, if she’s into halloween and dressing up and stuff =)
Take care
Sarah
I love watching and being entertained by the ‘Disney’ films and franchises, not sure about the villains though! Anyway, it’s all good, clean, entertaining fun.
The film ‘1001 Dalmatians’ is definitely fun and entertaining.
I really enjoyed reading your article and the step-by-step facial make-up transformational character.
.What made you start in this line of business?
.Is this a part-time or full-time job for you?
.Are you a Doctor of medicine, or of your own skillfully expertise?
.How much do spend altogether, just transforming into one character, especially with all that use of make-up?
.In the tutorial, did you literally strip away your eyebrows with the gluestick, sponge and compact powder?
What an interesting, unique, quite creepy, spooky article, except for the Oreo’s of course!
Thank you so much ! I’m not sure what made me start in this line of business … I had wanted to be a makeup artist for the longest time but never dared pursue my dream… it wasn’t until I was a grown up that I decided to quit my job and give art a chance !
I do this full time and I am NOT a doctor in medicine =)
How much time do I spend transforming into a character? Hmm it really depends, it can go from 6 hours to 14 really ^^
And yes I did block out my eyebrows with just glue and compact powder, it’s an easy, cheap and effective way to conceal them, although there are other ways to do it of course!
Thank you very much again for dropping by
Sarah
Hi Sarah, I never would have thought that something like this existed! You’ve got a really interesting article.
Explanation is very detailed – easy to understand, I think even I will be able to do…!! π
Your video is an excellent guide to the whole process from start to finish.
Above all – It’s a lot of fun to do (OR WATCH)
.
Thank you so much, it means a lot !
It looks so much like her!
thank you very much !
